Your mission will be…

As a Data Engineer at Siemens, you will be a key member of our growing data engineering team, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of the reliable and scalable data infrastructure that powers our data-driven initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Data Engineering, you will collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure the seamless flow of data across the organization.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring data pipelines to ensure a trusted and scalable data integration service for our customers. You will also contribute to the design and management of a comprehensive portfolio of integration platforms, helping to drive Siemens towards becoming a data-driven company.

  • Design and implement robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into our data platforms.

  • Automate data integration and ETL processes using tools such as Apache Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.

  • Monitor data quality, identify and resolve data issues, and implement data governance practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Evaluate and recommend new data technologies, tools, and architectural patterns to improve data infrastructure.

  • Contribute to the development of data engineering best practices and standards across the organization.

  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

We are looking for someone with…

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related technical field

  • 3+ years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar data-focused role.

  • Proficient in designing and implementing data pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or similar.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Proficiency in Python, Scala, or other data engineering programming languages [3]

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Scala, or other data engineering programming languages [3]

  • Familiarity with data engineering best practices, including data versioning, testing, and monitoring.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with agile software development methodologies.
