Charles Schwab Sr Manager - Software Development & Engineering in Austin, Texas

Duties : Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Work closely with application developers to automate and accelerate the testing, release, and deployment of applications into a runtime environment quickly and reliably. Use past experience in development, operations, and full-stack implementations delivering the new features in mobile platform for the organization which are continuous in nature and help support customers with increased adaptive experience and enhancements. Use programming experience in a high-level languages and other language to script installation, configuration, and provisioning. Provide continuous delivery solutions in a cloud environment and have experience with the core suite of tools used to manage different cloud providers. Establish and employ continuous integration practices and tools. Employ industry continuous delivery patterns and collaboratively work with other members to achieve successful continuous delivery solutions. Enable advance application metrics monitoring technique using Splunk dashboards, report, and queries during system wide events including DR, stress tests, and QA regression test. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $175,905 to $246,800 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 7 years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in a related occupation or a Master's degree and 5 years of experience.

Experience must include the following: Automate environmental support for applications using Bash and Perl; Infrastructure automation using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Chef Infra, Puppet, or Ansible; Perform continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment of applications to various environments including development and QA using Jenkins and Atlassian Bamboo; Site reliability engineering and observability of applications availability using Splunk and Grafana; Increase efficiencies in change management and build and release management by enhancing merging processes, versioning, publishing, including security via Veracode scans, triggers, and webhooks to run builds; Migrate projects from on-premises to GCP using products and services offered by GCP that includes compute engine, storage, security, network, and containers; and, Enable containerization or packaging of software code with the operating system libraries and dependencies required to run the code to create a single lightweight executable called a container, which runs consistently on any infrastructure.
