Kyndryl Senior Lead, Database Administrator in Bangalore, India

The Role

  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree

  • At least 12 years’ experience in database technology. Specially in SQL Databases

  • Strong knowledge and experience in MYSQL, MSSQL,DB2, GraphDB MongoDB, Redis, and Postgress.

  • Experience in data backup, recovery, and security strategies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Project management and technical Governance.

  • Low-Level Document which covers runbook of database deployment.

  • Review the design with key stakeholders, if required.

  • Provide and Review Prerequisites for Database cluster installation on OS level.

  • Run customized configuration scripts (if any) provided by Customer.

  • Setup Backup policy for the installed database cluster.

  • Set up Monitoring as per customer requirements.

  • Setup Database roles and access as per Customer requirements

Job Qualifications

  • As a Technical account Manager - Database Management, you are responsible for administration and management of MS SQL, MYSQL, Mongo, Redis and Postgress databases.

  • Install MS SQL, MYSQL, MongoDB, Redis and PostgreSQL cluster as per provided configurations

  • Core MSSQL,MYSQL, DB2, Mongo, Redis and Postgress Database Administration.

  • Expertise in Database Administration with outstanding troubleshooting capabilities

  • Provide technical expertise in Planning, Design, Implementation all migration tasks related to database.

  • Hands-on experience on Azure/AWS Cloud Infrastructure.

  • Experience in client interaction and handling account transition process. Make recommendations for system architecture per Microsoft SQL Server best practices

  • Extensive experience in Database migration and up gradation from MS SQL Server 2008/2012 to MS SQL Server 2016/2019

  • Experience in analyzing the gaps and recommending appropriate database solutions;

  • Expertise in SQL Server Database Administration activities on Windows Platform, encompassing database Installation Configuring, Administering, Patching, Upgrading, and Migrating Database Server to MS SQL.

  • Expertise in analyzing SQL queries and troubleshooting query performance using query plans and tuning query performance

  • A quick learner having experience in working in multi-cultural and diverse background

  • Experience in Stand-alone, Cluster & Always on Installation, Configuration and Administration of all versions of SQL Server

  • Experience in supporting Very Large databases (VLDB) and implementing HADR solutions, High Availability of database servers using Failover clustering, Database mirroring, Always On, Replications and Log Shipping.

  • Detail-oriented, organized and capable of prioritizing workload to complete multiple tasks and meet aggressive deadlines. Responsible for end user satisfaction with complete accountability of meeting the defined Service Level Agreements (SLA).

  • Experience in using SQL Server Profiler, SQL Server Agent, and Database Engine Tuning Advisor (DTA), WindowsPerfmon, Execution Plan

  • Good Knowledge in operating third party tools efficiently like SCOM and Netbackup

  • Ready to provide 24/7 support and ready to support in rotational on-call to respond to SQL Server alerts and potential productionissues

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client needs and develop solutions that meet those needs. Ready to cross skill with other Database Technologies [Postgres, MySQL, etc] when required.

  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

  • Design and implement complex database solution using Mongo, Redis and Postgress database technology.

  • Develop and maintain database architecture and standards for our organization, including implementing best practices for data management, data governance and data security.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure that the database is optimized for performance and implement sharding, partitioning, and caching.

  • Achieves organizational goals by defining, integrating, and upgrading a comprehensive architecture to support databases and database platforms.

  • Performance tuning and maintaining database by determining structural requirements and developing and installing solutions.

  • Ensures security of all information and computer systems and digital data.

  • Ensures adherence to government regulations and guidelines for technological systems and safeguarding of data.

  • Recommends upgrades and systems and sub-systems

  • Troubleshoots and finds solutions for database issues as they arise.

  • Achieves e-commerce information architecture operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementing production and quality standards, resolving problems, identifying trends, determining system improvements, and implementing change.

  • Studies organizational mission, goals, and business drivers, and confers with senior management to understand information requirements.

  • Determines database platform architecture, technology, and tools.

  • Experience in backup and recovery solutions on Mongo, Redis and Postgres.

Nice to have,

  • Extensive knowledge of database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB, DB2)

  • Prior experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)

  • Experience working with remote teams.

  • Experience with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS

Within our Database Administration team at Kyndryl, you'll be a master of managing and administering the backbone of our technological infrastructure. You'll be the architect of the system, shaping the base definition, structure, and documentation to ensure the long-term success of our business operations.

Your expertise will be crucial in configuring, installing and maintaining database management systems, ensuring that our systems are always running at peak performance. You'll also be responsible for managing user access, implementing the highest standards of security to protect our valuable data from unauthorized access.

In addition, you'll be a disaster recovery guru, developing strong backup and recovery plans to ensure that our system is always protected in the event of a failure. Your technical acumen will be put to use, as you support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to our database systems.

As a key player on the team, you'll implement policies and procedures to safeguard our data from external threats. You will also conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage, ensuring that our system is always scalable to meet our business needs.

You'll be a strategic partner, working closely with various teams to coordinate systematic database project plans that align with our organizational goals. •VMware ESXi experience

•Vulnerability management 

•On prem AD FS (Active Directory Federation Services) with Microsoft Active Directory (AD) ,and/or Azure AD
