India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) is part of IBM Systems world-wide technology development lab. Established in 1996, the Lab is headquartered in India's Silicon Valley and startup hub - Bengaluru, with a strong presence in Pune and Hyderabad. Developers at ISDL deliver technology innovations across the entire Systems portfolio - z Systems, Power / OpenPOWER Systems and Storage. The team here works across the entire stack from processor design, firmware, operating system to software defined storage. The lab also focuses on innovations, thanks to the creative energies of the teams. The lab has contributed over 400+ patents in cutting edge technologies and inventions so far.

While computing veers towards cognitive, cloud, mobile, social, and security, the lab has significantly contributed to not just new products focused in these areas, but has also ushered in new development models such as Agile, Design Thinking and DevOps.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Who you are:

We are IBM ZOS (Z Operating System, DFSMS - Data Facility for Storage Management Subsystem), professional working on Z Enterprise Systems and we build the most secure systems for our Banking and Enterprise customers to deploy their mission critical applications. Also, We provide atmost security and Data management on Z systems. The mission critical applications run on zOS and all the data menagement is taken care by a product called DFSMS (Data Facility Storage Management Subsystem). DFSMS is a system software running on zOS platform which manages the DATA - End-to-end. It manages all kind of storage like Flash Systems, Disk Storage, SAN Storage, Tape Storage and Network Attached Storage and seemless moves the data across various storage based on the Data storage policy/management. Our IBM z/OS customers heavily rely on the stability of the DFSMS product and new innovative features which can enhance thier user experience and bring in effeciency.

What you'll do:

To Build the world most secure system via Z systems which helps customers to deploy their application, also provide a platform to deploy Private Cloud, Stand alone systems hosting mission critical application, also to defend againist threats like Cyber Threats, etc and making the enablement experience quicker and easier.

• Architect, Design and Develop Features related to Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure - DFSMS Basic Access methods (BAM), Data Management & Simplification.

• Develop System Software to back up and recover the data from storage to Cloud.

• Modenise User interface for a simplified and unified customer experience. How we'll help you grow:

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Must Have :

• 8+ years of relevant experience

• Relevant experience of atleast 8 years in z/OS Environment & Systems Development.

• Expertise in OS concepts (z/OS architecture and Unix internals), Hybrid Cloud, virtualisation, Device Drivers, File Systems, Storage management / Networking, Security, REST API & DevOps (Continuous Integration)

• Demonstrated execution experience of Systems project development and test on zOS platform

• Strong programming skills in C, PLX, JCL, Assembly, Rexx, Java, Javascript, Unix system scripting Shell/Python.

• Good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a global team environment.

• Able to guide a team of lesser experienced professionals

• Excellent Communication, people management and leadership skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Assembler, PLX programming, JCL and REXX

• zOS architecture, System programming, Hybrid Cloud, Containers, Security, Storage and Network Management and Virtualisation
