Oracle Data Engineer - Database and Performance in BENGALURU, India

Job Description

The Construction and Engineering Global Business Unit (CEGBU) of Oracle is the world’s leading project and portfolio management software organization. This Data Engineer role is focused on database and performance optimizations. You will work with our other Analytics development teams to analyze, optimize, and improve existing and new data processes. We are looking for someone with strong hands on experience with Oracle databases to help drive direction for new data warehousing approaches such as partitioning and indexing strategies, query and execution plan optimization, and investigating and resolving live customer issues in regards to performance and data flow and process execution.

Working as part of a development team, you will be called upon to analyze problems, suggest and assess multiple alternative solutions, and develop high-quality industry leading software.

BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, is required.

The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment is essential. Ideal candidates have a passion for the software development field and actively stay on top of technology trends and best practices. Ability to quickly grasp and communicate technical, business, and design information is preferred.

We require the candidate to perform the following:

Analyze explain plans and performance issues along side our Cloud Ops teamsWork directly with those teams to debug related database issues and be able to make strong recommendations and implementationsAnalyze query executions and be able to optimize queries, packages, procedures, and functionsWork with developers on changes to be implemented to improve existing and new productsResolve production customer performance issues in Cloud quickly and effectivelyBe a leader for researching, learning, and understanding the latest database and cloud technologies to help drive team direction

Responsibilities

Job Qualifications

Strong Oracle database background

Ability to monitor, evaluate, and implement changes to Oracle database at a DBA level.

This is not a DBA position, but deep knowledge of Oracle databases is required.

Extensive experience in troubleshooting and optimizing query executions in Oracle databases.

Experience with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse.

Experience with Oracle Golden Data, Data Integration, Data Integrator, and Oracle Data Cloud Services

Oracle Database programming including Database design, data modeling, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL

Strong Linux background

Collaborate with teams to achieve project outcomes.

Collaborate closely with Database Engineers on data migration and data related projects.

Collaborate with teams towards resolving Production issues.
