Job Description Summary

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process.

As this role, you will have design responsibility for system and analysis, design requirements definition and flow down, system safety anddeveloping/executing System Verification and Validation, and providing support to manufacturing and customer issues. This position has a high emphasis on driving significant design improvements within the installed base.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and possesses a level of functional expertise in the field of systems engineering necessary to influence and execute technical and project delivery execution.

  • Work with Service team to understand service issue and Customer issue and help in troubleshooting customer issue and regularly track spare parts consumption and warranty.

  • Perform total system level trouble-shooting on multi-symptom problems. between the electrical, mechanical, software interfaces to root cause design issues and customer problems. Assess event logs, software logs and audit trails to illustrate problem sequencing.

  • Work across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement engineering solutions on install base programs. Retires technical risks as they arise on the program.

  • Identify required improvements in product design, manufacturing and service to meet product quality targets such as warranty, Infantile failures, cost to serve

  • Own systems deliverables such as requirements development, ensuring traceability and flow down of requirements, system design and analysis, FMEA, Risk management

  • Owning system requirements related to install, calibration, serviceability and PM’s.

  • Interface with field personal such as OLEs and RSEs to gather feedback on serviceability and channel those to as requirements working with Service Architect.

  • Understand / translate the Medical device Standards compliance needs for the products and generate relevant requirements.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills.

Educational Q ualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/electronics from an accredited university.

Required Skills :

  • A minimum of 6+ years of technical experience along with established technology leadership credentials across disciplines and functions.

  • More than 3 years system level engineering work or comparable experiences

  • Good knowledge of Product Troubleshooting, Problem Solving, Requirements generation, reliability planning & demonstration, failure mode analysis, Quality systems and design standards.

  • Experience working with others on a global basis and demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer focused environment

Desired Characteristics:

  • Effective communication skills - ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.

  • Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems.

  • Extended experience in a Service, Hardware and/or Systems, previous service engineering positions.

  • Demonstrated experience with quality and regulatory compliance processes.
