Assistant Professor - Health Sciences

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor to teach online and in-person classes for the A.S. Health Sciences degree, as well as courses such as Foundations of Health and Wellness (HPE 1200), Basic Life Support & First Aid (HE 2200), Health Care in the U.S. (COH 1500), Health and Nutrition (HE 4200) and Women's Health (HE 3800). The successful candidate must have knowledge of current health services trends and healthcare workforce training as well as the ability to design and conduct scholarly research in health sciences or other health-related discipline.

Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in Health Sciences or similar health-related discipline at the time of appointment with an minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience at the college level;

Experience with coordinating and delivering online and face-to-face training for Basic Life Support courses, specifically covering First Aid and Safety and CPR certifications and/or experience with coordinating and delivering online and face-to-face training for health and wellness coaching, specifically covering motivational interviewing and personalized health goals;

Knowledge of health science pedagogy and ability to teach courses for the Health Sciences A.S. degree and a variety of Health Sciences elective courses;

Experience with programs focused on recruiting high school students into college;

Knowledge of current health services trends and healthcare workforce training; and,

Ability to design and conduct scholarly research in health sciences or other health-related disciplines.

COMPENSATION

$72,667 - $82,928. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
