If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Hong Kong Solutions Architecture team as a Solutions Architect.

In this role, you'll be the driving force behind the technology that powers our customers' key business outcomes. From early-stage startups building their initial products to established enterprises migrating legacy applications to the cloud, you'll tackle a wide range of technology challenges. Your expertise will shape the technology decisions of our customers, guiding them towards best practices, and serving as a trusted technical advisor.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

As a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you'll be part of a team that has been at the forefront of cloud computing for over 17 years. AWS offers more than 200 fully featured services to millions of active customers worldwide, including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies. You'll work closely with Business Development teams, supporting customers in Hong Kong as they embark on their cloud journey.

Key job responsibilities

  • Act as the technical owner of the Business Development team, ensuring customer success in building secure, highly scalable and resilient applications on AWS.

  • Provide technical & architectural guidance to digital native companies and help develop cost optimization strategies by deploying the right architecture and AWS pricing models.

  • Influence customer C-levels and decision makers through technology angles, roadmap briefings and office hours with their teams. Scope customer engagements, defining clear objectives and success criteria.

  • Collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to align resources and actions towards the goal of successful production launch and operational excellence.

  • Conduct workshops and training sessions for the wider AWS customer base in key marketing events.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in large-scale system architecture design or application development of complex IT solutions.

  • Knowledge of the latest technology trends in open-source, distributed databases, containers, devops, real-time analytics, or Generative AI.

  • In-depth working knowledge in one or more technology domains such as web or mobile applications, DevOps, Serverless, Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, high-performance databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), highly secured workloads, GenAI, etc.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must (English / Cantonese), strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with IT professionals and business executives.

  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaborate across internal and external organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in designing, building, refactoring or operating large scale and impactful IT projects - either on premises or in the cloud.

  • Working knowledge of software development practices and cloud native architectures highly desired.

  • Able to create technical content / sample codes that can be easily adopted and reusable by others.

  • Experience working in a customer-facing role, or internal role that needs to deal with lots of stakeholders.

  • AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) or other industry certifications.
