Description We are offering an opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in the healthcare industry, based in Everett, Washington. The role will entail managing all aspects of medical billing, including processing electronic and manual payments, managing patient accounts receivable, and conducting payment-related administrative tasks. This is a contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Handle electronic and manual payment posting accurately and efficiently.

• Coordinate payment files with bank spreadsheets, post and proof electronic files, and research missing remits.

• Manage payments received via patient portal.

• Handle incoming statement phone calls, and answer & research general statement questions.

• Work with all incoming reports from POS: Final notice report, bad address report, change of address report.

• Manage payment plans and prepare and forward accounts to collection agency.

• Research and update addresses for returned mail.

• Review patient overpayments and initiate refund request, post to account & mail to patient.

• Set up payment plans and send out Payment Plan Agreement letters.

• Utilize various software tools including Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, Collection Processes, Epic Software, ICD-10, CPT Codes, athenahealth, Centricity. Requirements • Minimum of one year experience in a medical billing role within the Healthcare/NHS industry

• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Knowledge and experience with Appeals handling in medical billing

• Familiarity with Billing Functions in a healthcare setting

• Understanding of Claim Administration procedures

• Experience with Collection Processes in the healthcare sector

• Proficiency in using Epic Software for medical billing

• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Codes for medical billing

• Experience with athenahealth and Centricity software for medical billing

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve problems

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
