Job Description:

Space

Develops, modifies, and maintains 3D Building Information Models (BIM) and 2D Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) floor plans. Converts existing CAD drawings to BIM. Conducts routine facility surveys to verify and/or document existing conditions of all University owned or occupied facilities. Surveys include, but are not limited to, verification of BIM model or CAD floor plan, space data, occupants, other existing conditions. Updates the Space Tracking and Reporting System (UF-STARS) to maintain a timely record of university space. Conducts routine facility surveys to verify and/or document existing conditions of all University owned or occupied facilities.

GIS Support

Performs quality control and quality assurance on GIS and CAD data. Compares information on digital maps to hardcopy information and checks for accuracy. Compares legal survey documents with current GIS and CAD information. Read and interpret legal descriptions. Supports the University’s utilities infrastructure in GIS. Compiles data from a variety of sources, including digital sources, imagery, surveys, as-built documentation, sketches, etc. into the GIS enterprise. Utilize both desktop and web applications for data dissemination.

Document Management

Supports the University’s document management system by following protocols and procedures for archiving building and campus information by providing support, and recommendations to internal and external customers. Organize, index, and enter historical building and site archive documents including specifications, O&M manuals, drawings, images, etc. into the Meridian Document Management System. Maintain the integrity of the DMS by monitoring user document input and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of system metadata. Review and monitor document quality and accuracy.

LiDAR Collection

Assist in various stages of LiDAR field collection including varied phases of interior and exterior construction, surface and subsurface site collection, etc

Coordinate management and tracking of easement and lease data and documentation with real estate coordinator. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Expected Salary:

Expected starting salary $52,000 - $62,000 based on experience

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer Master’s degree in architecture, interior design, construction management, geospatial science, engineering, or related fields, plus at least two years of professional experience in university space planning and management. Graduate education in architecture, construction management or related fields is preferred and may be substituted year for year for a portion of the professional experience. Effective communication/presentation skills and speaking/writing abilities are essential. Familiarity with quantitative and computer techniques and procedures, policies, guidelines of Florida higher education administration is helpful but not required. Working knowledge of GIS devices and imagery preferred. The ability to read plats/legal descriptions is appropriate but not mandatory. Experience with scanning and imaging software, large format and printing/plotting equipment, general understanding of digital archival procedures/standards preferred. Working knowledge of Meridian, ESRI, Autodesk, Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite products is ideal.
