BCAA Business Analyst, Marketing Technology in *Head Office, Canada

Join our dynamic team as a Business Analyst, Marketing Technology (hybrid), where you'll be at the forefront of customer communication management (CCM) and digital marketing platforms. As part of our marketing team, you'll collaborate closely with digital technology, customer experience (CX), underwriting, product, and information systems (IS) teams to enhance the customer communication experience.

We're seeking an enthusiastic candidate who bridges the gap between business needs and technical solutions. If you're passionate about leveraging technology to address business challenges, this role is for you. Operating within our Digital Engagement team, you'll serve as a vital link between internal stakeholders and technical teams. Your responsibilities will include articulating marketing stakeholders' business objectives, gathering requirements, and partnering with platform teams to develop and implement scalable solutions that add value to our marketing organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide leadership on implementation of new marketing technology and ongoing requirements gathering to drive innovation and personalization

  • Deliver personalized, interactive communications via customers' preferred channels at scale for all products

  • Actively collaborate and build rapport with internal stakeholders to deliver new solutions and improve CX and ROI through personalization

  • Utilize a general knowledge of insurance policy transactions (new business, renewal etc) to support customer communication, delivery, and optimization to drive ROI

  • Connect and leverage pre-existing content repositories and data from systems of record to ensure the relevance and accuracy of communications.

  • Build requirements through meetings, workshops, documents, analysis etc. Translate business needs into clearly defined and documented detailed, high quality user stories

  • Be the liaison between the business team and development team. Manage stakeholder relationships and facilitate meetings

  • Using project methodology, help to manage user stories and build tickets for the business and development teams involved

  • Create and lead functional testing based on test scenarios and test cases for marketing technology solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and are bug free

  • Responsible for content accuracy, ensuring all links, images, copy, personalization, dynamic content, and segments are correct

  • Clearly articulate and document detailed business requirements that will be used by internal / external technical developers and configurators to implement valuable solutions to the business

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for technical solutions, configurations, and processes

  • Create supplemental specifications for new applications or analyzes change requests/enhancements in existing applications

  • Own and evolve the story backlog to ensure the backlog reflects the latest priorities, is broken down into detail and is deliverable

  • Support incident resolutions and investigate root cause of issues, fix/debug issues and report/escalate if necessary

  • Regular monitoring for optimization - Report on and analyze insights on channel performance and engagement to help make informed recommendations for enhancements

  • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective utilization of marketing technologies

What you bring:

  • Proficiency in Customer Communications Management (CCM) tools, experience with Smart Communication Document Management suite (SmartCOMM) is an asset

  • Experience with Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Tableau preferred

  • Knowledge of insurance or another statement driven industry (ie. Telecom, energy, etc)

  • Experience with Agile, Kanban and/or Scrum methodologies

  • Should be well versed with preparation of the XML data schema and their mapping to business data objects

  • Experience working with systems, Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and databases leveraging tools such as Amazon Redshift, Tableau, SQL, R and Python

  • Experience in identifying document storage (document indexes etc.) and distribution requirements

  • Knowledge of Guidewire data model and experience of preparing data mapping requirements preferred

  • Experience with user-centered design

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence

Bonus Qualifications!

  • Experience working with document print vendors and e-signature vendors

Internal Candidates: Please note that this is a Grade 13 role. The internal posting will close on Monday, April 15, 2024. It is a hybrid position based out of our Head Office in Burnaby, BC.

The salary range for this position is $85,536.24 to $106,920.24 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
