The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) Chief Data Officer (CDO) manages the department’s Office of Data Management (ODM). The CDO establishes a data governance framework to ensure consistency in policies and procedures regarding data collection, management, utilization, and dissemination, promoting access to data for internal and external users while maintaining privacy and security for the state’s largest agency. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * A business-centric, data-oriented, and analytical mindset. * Knowledge of enterprise information management processes and methodologies. * Familiarity with master data, metadata, reference data, data warehousing, database structure, business intelligence principles and processes, and technical architecture. * Knowledge of database management systems, master data and metadata management tools, data acquisition strategies, cloud storage, and associated security considerations. * Skills in database design, data security, and data lifecycle management (i.e., gathering, cleansing, publishing, archiving, back-up and recovery, and purging) for large enterprise systems. * Meet minimum qualifications: o 3-5 years’ experience in data analytics, computer science, information technology, or related field. A bachelor’s degree in data sciences is desirable.
