Right now the company is experiencing exciting growth across the country and an opportunity is now available for a Supply Chain Lead within the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) Capability Lifecycle Manager (CLCM) program based at Henderson WA. The Inventory Management Lead is accountable to the Supply Chain Manager for the management of OPV inventory, ensuring Navy gets the parts it requires when they are required - underpinning the availability of the OPV vessels to Navy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake inventory management planning and scheduling, including analysis of customer requirements and the optimisation of inventory holdings in various locations.

  • Maintain data integrity within the Defence inventory management systems in support of OPV Program requirements.

  • Ensuring stock availability for planned maintenance activities

  • Own and manage inventory issues providing clear, accurate and timely communication to all stakeholders.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with all internal/external stakeholders and attend meetings where required.

  • Development of the annual Inventory Investment Plan.

  • Use leading KPI metrics to identify and drive improvement activities

  • Liaise with all stakeholders on disposal activities relating to the OPV platform.

  • Lead a team of primarily intermediate supply chain professionals.

  • Working with the OPVSPO Sourcing Team to ensure the efficient procurement and repair of inventory to maintain the established stock levels.

  • Be involved with and lead continuous improvement activities.

    Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Requires a Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Distribution (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with inventory management operations. Experience within a Defence environment preferred.

  • Computer literacy including the use of inventory management systems, e.g. SAP, Windows OS and Microsoft Office.

  • Exposure to sourcing activities.

    Desirable

  • Experience using Defence inventory management systems MILIS and AIMS

  • Supervisory experience
