Howden Netherlands B.V. in Hengelo serves as the ‘Centre of Excellence’ for Cooling Fans, with production facilities in Europe and China. Additionally, we function as the regional service center for related Howden products.

Howden’s range of industrial Cooling Fans are used as part of wet, dry and hybrid cooling systems. Our Fans lead the way in high efficiency and low noise operation.

Our company is characterized by professionalism and a results-oriented approach. Since the acquisition of Chart, Howden is ready for a new phase of development and growth, with a focus on developing and selling new products.

As Financial department within Howden Netherlands B.V., we also need to adapt to these new developments and changing requirements. And we are currently looking for a Financial Controller to support us in this exciting journey.

What we are looking for?

We are looking for an ambitious Financial Controller who’s ready for a second career step, that wishes to develop personally and contribute to the growth opportunities within Howden.

We are looking for someone with experience in financial analysis and administration. Who is curious, well-organized, capable of meeting multiple deliverables within deadlines. An enthusiastic person looking for improvements and prepared to challenge the existing thinking and practices to achieve targets, while being comfortable working in a dynamic and internationally- oriented environment.

Within Chart/Howden the financial focus is shifting more towards business control. In which we strive towards ‘finance excellence’, achieving the highest level of performance and effectiveness within the finance function.

The Financial Controller complements the Finance team in balancing workload and contributing by identifying areas of continuous improvement, enhanced financial insight, exposure and awareness.

Key is to further leverage our ERP/technology to stay in control and optimize tasks and performance. So interest in and working knowledge of Business Central (our ERP system) and related reporting tools like PowerBI is an advantage.

Howden Netherlands’ finance cycle is quite dynamic. There is a weekly/monthly/quarterly rhythm in which we need to comply with Group corporate planning and reporting deadlines. Key financial indicators in this are bookings/sales/margin/ebitda and cashflow. In which it’s critical that our budget and forecasting are reliable and match actual results.

The Financial Controller ensures that the financial information and reporting is accurate, timely, complete, and reliable.

Adds value being involved in these (ad-hoc) accounting/reporting activities, delivering financial control & analysis, being SOX compliant, and providing support to the different stakeholders within Howden Netherlands B.V. as towards the Corporate Group.

Profile requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Control, Accounting or equivalent.

  • Proven experience (2-5 years) in a similar financial function.

  • Reporting qualitative correct data while meeting deadlines and expectation management.

  • Experience with project administration (e.g. POC, percentage of completion).

  • Strong presentation and analysis skills.

  • Natural curiosity and proactiveness.

  • Highly skilled in the use of Excel.

  • Fluent English language skills, both verbal and in writing (fluent in Dutch, both verbal and in writing is a bonus).

  • Experience with Windows D365 Business Central and/or Power BI is an advantage.
