As a Value Stream Engineer, you will play a critical role in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase overall productivity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality, to analyze value streams, identify bottlenecks, and develop strategies to streamline operations. Here, you will make an impact by:Analyze value streams and identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and increased productivity.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Standard Work.Conduct time studies and process mapping to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions to optimize workflow.Implement visual management tools and metrics to monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement.Lead and facilitate improvement projects, ensuring timely completion and achievement of project goals.Train and mentor team members on lean manufacturing principles and tools to foster a culture of continuous improvement.Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize supply chain processes and improve overall value stream performance.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in engineering from an accredited institutionThree (3) years of experience in value stream engineering in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Three (3) years of experience in manufacturing or productionProven experience in value stream analysis and process improvement, preferably in a manufacturing environmentProven experience in value stream analysis and process improvement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in utilizing data analysis and visualization tools to identify trends, analyze performance data, and drive data-driven decisions.Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Experience with project management methodologies and tools to plan, execute, and monitor improvement projects.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.Professional certifications s ch as Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt) are a plus.Work Location: On-site Within USATravel: May include up to 10% domesticRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedPLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT AN ACTIVE JOB OPENING BUT RATHER A MEANS TO BUILD A PIPELINE OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH US IN THE FUTURE.Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially.
