Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Data Engineer to join a large insurance company on a 6 month contract based in Toronto with possible extension to permanent employment. The successful candidate will be joining a new team called the data distribution team and will be optimizing their current on-premise data stores to improve automation. Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, and python/powershell for automation will be essential for this role.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years experience working as a Data Engineer in an on-premise environment.

• Strong experience with SQL Server Database and the ability to design, implement, and manage databases, including knowledge of DB architecture, indexing, and stored procedures.

• Experience developing and deploying SSIS packages to improve ETL processes.

• Experience with Python, Powershell, or Bash scripting for automating processes, data storage, and jobs.

• Great communication skills both written and verbally. - Agile or XP (extreme programming) experience.

• Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with Kafka for event management.

• Previous experience as a DBA. null
