What will you contribute?

Reporting to the Program Director , the Senior Project Manager role ensures the timely delivery of large and complex software projects to a best practice quality standard, using both the Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

Your responsibilities as a Senior Project Manager will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage key relationships with project stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and drive project requirements, priorities and deadlines.

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to define scope, size and prioritize requirements and address all constraints in a structured fashion.

  • Accountable for the creation, delivery and approval of all required project control documents and dashboards.

  • Develop detailed project charters outlining the work packages, objectives, milestones, terms of reference, and resource requirements.

  • Establish project governance, communication plans, project schedules, and change management strategy.

  • Establish appropriate key success indicators against all expected outcomes and subsequent benefits for all stakeholders.

  • Generate project forecasts as well as track and report on progress made on multiple projects.

  • Conduct cost and benefit analysis for all project deliverables.

  • Manage project budget and ensure that project deliverables are executed within budget.

  • Liaise with project team and client stakeholders to build effective and collaborative relationships.

  • Incorporate project management standards, processes and procedures in support of continuous improvement activities.

  • Lead, influence, manage and direct work, issues, and escalations.

  • Manage a team to define the overall project plan including project tasks, timing and dependencies.

  • Ensure proper transfer of knowledge and support functionality as software is transitioned to operations.

  • Provide feedback regarding the performance of project team resources.

  • Manage all Project RAID items to ensure overall success.

  • Assist and coordinate the Organisational Change Management (OCM) initiatives within the projects.

  • Proactively track, forecast and manage all human and non-human resourcing requirements to ensure project team capacity meets continually fluctuating effort demands.

Required Experience:

  • 7 - 10 years of experience as a Project Manager, including deployment of large scale software programs (>$10M).

  • Reputable practitioner of various development delivery models including Agile and Waterfall.

  • Seasoned experience in managing multiple Agile and Waterfall projects concurrently through an Integrated Project Plan

  • Proven track record in problem solving, as well as the sizing and prioritization of requirements.

  • Demonstrable experience in managing large, multi-leveled and complex Stakeholder Matrices

  • Experience and knowledge in Financial Services, Banking, software development, and managed services would be considered an asset.

  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to think well on their feet.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experienced in delivering presentations to senior stakeholders and multi-leveled collaboration.

  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.

  • Strong leadership, influencing, negotiation skills; analytical and planning skills; risk management and problem resolution skills

  • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, accountability, custodianship and taking proactive initiative and strong collaboration skills

  • Ability to anticipate and understand business strategies, objectives and priorities to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment to manage multiple, fast changing priorities.

  • Proficient in productivity tools (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint).

  • Working knowledge of Agile Central (Rally)will be seen as a preferred asset.

Education:

  • Undergraduate B.A/ B.Sc. or equivalent.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required.

  • An Agile Certification to support the experience is required.
