CAE USA INC Team Leader Visual Technician in Montreal (St. Laurent), Canada

Role and Responsibilities

Within a technical and unionized team, the incumbent will oversee the operational activities of the team and ensure an adequate level of support at various stages of production. The incumbent and his team will also work in collaboration with system designers, and participate in support activities related to detailed design, manufacturing and those taking place on the test areas.

Responsibilities:

Including the monitoring and coordination of testing and integration support activities, the incumbent will be responsible for communicating the state of health of the deliverables of the team for which he will be responsible to his manager as well as to the parties involved. He will also be responsible for ensuring that they meet the evaluation criteria according to the established control milestones as well as those corresponding to the clients' requirements. At the very end, he will have to make sure that the projects assigned to the team meet the planned schedules.

  • Attend and participate in meetings related to project milestones and readjust the planning of operations accordingly.

  • Evaluate the resource capacity required for the execution of future projects and make recommendations to his supervisor.

  • Encourage and promote continuous improvement activities within the team.

  • Ensure the application of operational processes and procedures within the team.

  • Ensure the smooth running of operations and support activities and ensure proper monitoring in accordance with the team's KPIs.

  • Assign the right resources to the right projects.

  • Encourage flexibility and organize cross training of team members.

  • Support the team in problem solving and facilitating resolution.

  • Control of non-conformities under the responsibility of the team.

  • Be flexible to work on schedules adapted to operational needs and those of the team.

  • Perform administrative and logistical tasks related to the activities of the team leader.

  • Resolve customer issues promptly and courteously.

  • Collaborate with various groups to achieve results.

  • Organize weekly team meetings and maintain engaging speeches.

  • Support and assist each team member with their training needs.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma in avionics, electronics, telecommunications, IT or any other related training.

  • A good candidate for this position would be a multi-talented individual with expertise in electronics / avionics / information technology in a production environment and able to review operational priorities on a regular basis.

  • Excellent ability to read electrical and mechanical diagrams as well as block diagrams.

  • Excellent analytical skills in search of root causes when problem solving with the team. Experience and strong understanding of the avionics / electronics environment and its language. Among other things, understanding of the architecture of simulators, in particular the relationships between the elements of the systems.

  • Excellent aptitude in project management, related priorities as well as the development of mitigation plan.

  • Great communication skills, especially on technical and interpersonal subjects.

  • Strong customer focus and excellent customer service skills.
