Position Purpose

The Naturalist Intern assists the staff naturalists in all facets of the educational and recreational programs as well as upkeep of trails and property of the Outagamie County Parks System at Mosquito Hill Nature Center. Position starts in May 2024.

Hour are typically Tuesday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Occasional weekends and evenings.

This position is located at Mosquito Hill in New London, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities

  • *Assist or lead age-appropriate ecology and outdoor programs for children and/or the general public.

  • Research program topics/activities and develop new educational/recreational programs.

  • Develop and maintain educational displays.

  • Assist with daily operations of the nature center grounds and interpretive building.

  • Some weekend work required.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must have the ability to lift items of 50 lbs. or more several times per shift.

  • Enrollment at a college with emphasis in a natural resource field or education program is preferred.
