Job Summary Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Center on Community Health Equity, the Senior Project Associate will coordinate and manage GNYHA initiatives that assist hospitals with community health improvement and other related initiatives, with a focus on identifying and sharing best practices and supporting member engagement on GNYHA’s initiatives. The position is within GNYHA’s Center on Community Health Equity Policy and Services and supports the Senior Vice President, the Senior Director for Community Health Engagement, and other Center staff as needed. The Center supports GNYHA member hospitals on community health equity issues. Responsibilities: Research and identify best practice approaches for hospital use in conducting community health improvement activities, including: 1) community and public health practices and engagement strategies 2) the use of metrics to measure success of community health initiatives 3) reporting on hospital community health activities to community leaders, policymakers, and regulatory agencies, and 4) community violence prevention interventions, including human trafficking and domestic violence. Support projects in these areas. Support the development and deployment of community health resources for hospital member use, including educational material and briefings and tracking member engagement with GNYHA resources.Coordinate the operation of GNYHA community health equity meetings, including agenda planning and meeting logistics.Support the Senior Vice President on Center-wide projects, including member relations, agenda planning and logistics for Center meetings with member institutions and external partners, and special projects assigned to the Center.Attend and report back on external community health equity-related meetings, including meetings hosted by government agencies and advocacy groups.Assist in preparing documents and articles for internal and external publication. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in public health, health policy, social work, or other related subjects.Strong oral and written communication skills.Highly organized with attention to detail.Strong research skills, including the ability to collect and analyze qualitative information from various sources.Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, with experience documenting and formatting content across Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and creating tables and sorting/filtering data in Excel.Enthusiasm for working in a health and social service environment.The ability for occasional travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in public health, health policy, health administration, social work, or other related subjects.An understanding of basic community and public health principles.At least one year of prior work experience in a health care setting. Salary Range: $60,000 - $67,500 The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement. When determining exact compensation, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, skills, budget, and internal equity).
