Description We are in search of a dedicated Cable Technician to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of coaxial cable networks to ensure the efficient and effective operation of our telecommunications services.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct installation, maintenance, and repair activities for coaxial cable networks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

• Utilize coring tools to prepare coaxial cable for splicing and connectorization, accurately measuring and cutting cables to ensure optimal network performance.

• Perform forward and return sweeps to test signal strength, quality, and integrity throughout the coaxial cable network, identifying and troubleshooting any signal distortions or losses.

• Demonstrate expertise in straight splicing techniques to join coaxial cables securely and maintain signal continuity.

• Possess an in-depth understanding of coaxial cable components, selecting and installing appropriate components to optimize signal distribution and network performance.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to coaxial cable networks, including signal degradation and connectivity problems.

• Maintain accurate records of all installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities, generating detailed reports to provide insights for continuous improvement.

• Utilize your skills in Broadband, EO/IR systems, Networking, OSP, Patch Panel, AB Testing, Cable Installation, Cabling, Coax Cable, and Digital to perform your duties effectively.

This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. Requirements • Proficiency in broadband technology and its applications

• Experience with EO/IR systems and its integration with cable networks

• Strong understanding of networking principles and their application in cable technology

• Familiarity with Outside Plant (OSP) operations and procedures

• Ability to install and maintain patch panels

• Knowledge of AB Testing to optimize cable network performance

• Proven experience in cable installation, including Coax Cable

• Ability to handle digital cabling systems

• Experience with cabling procedures and standards
