We’re looking for a Strategic Competitive Intelligence Manager (Digital Security Solutions)

The Entrust Digital Security Solutions (DSS) business segment is seeking a passionate, seasoned cybersecurity competitive intelligence professional to take a leading role in driving and helping execute the company’s digital security solutions competitive marketing strategy. As part of the Sales Enablement, Alliance Marketing and Competitive Intelligence team, the Strategic Competitive Intelligence Manager will work closely with Revenue Marketing, Product Management, Public Relations and the Sales and Channel organizations to help place the digital security solutions product suite and Entrust in a market leading position. Key functions of the Sales Enablement, Alliance Marketing and Competitive Intelligence team include training and building content for sales and channel enablement, developing joint marketing activity with key alliance partners, and having complete situational awareness of Entrust position in the market with respect to its competitors and market trends. The Strategic competitive Intelligence Manager will play a key role in informing sales enablement, messaging and positioning the DSS product/service portfolio, and guiding the direction of development roadmap.

Position Overview :

The Strategic Competitive Intelligence Manager position is critical to growing Entrust share in the fast-growing digital security markets, including the company’s focus on Zero Trust, and cloud migration and quantum preparedness. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive situational awareness of the changing competitive landscape for the DSS portfolio. Along with maintaining a clear picture of the competitive pressures, the Strategic Competitive Intelligence Manager will need to successfully tell a story that differentiates Entrust from competitors.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the cybersecurity market, a passion for finding gaps that can capitalize for successful marketing, and the ability to get the job done. This role is remote with approximately 20% travel.

How you will make an impact:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge about Entrust current and future competition by gathering market intelligence from industry analysts, thought leaders, influencer communities, and Entrust own customers and prospects

  • Analyze Entrust DSS product portfolio versus competition and market share to derive strategic discussions on product and service gaps

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Product Management, Marketing, Public Relations, and Sales organizations

  • Coordinate with other segments in the organization including corporate, regional, and vertical marketing as well as demand generation and campaign teams to align marketing initiatives

  • Develop and maintain a competitive product and service catalog including buying and pricing options available to customers

  • Work closely with Sales Enablement team to lead initiatives to provide training and education in areas of price management and product/service structure usage related to as a service offerings

  • Combine business and technical knowledge to develop executive presentations, organizing opinions to facilitate actionable recommendations

  • Support strategic planning, reporting, and other project-based initiatives as needed

  • Develop and present quarterly competitive map, working in partnership with Revenue Marketing, Product Management, and Public Relations

  • Contribute to product messaging and positioning, helping craft the overall story with product management that is both relevant, compelling, and differentiating in the market

  • Define and articulate strategy on how to counter competing product features and functions and how to message and position Entrust unique value proposition with the various target use cases, audiences, and buyer personas

  • Spearhead the team to communicate the value proposition developing supporting tools to enable sales and channels

  • Assist Product Management and Product Marketing in communications aspects of all launches – including training, use case, and value propositions

  • Present at internal webinars and in-person events to peer colleagues and senior managers

  • Write and promote blog through entrust.com and social platforms

  • Measure, track, and report on effectiveness of competitive intelligence findings on sales wins

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of increasing responsibility in high-tech product marketing, preferably in digital security or cybersecurity with clear understanding of the different global markets and vertical segments

  • Capacity for independent critical thinking and problem solving, ability to reconcile large, disparate, and conflicting datasets to draw out appropriate insights

  • Demonstrated results establishing marketing and communications plans that lead to successful product growth and profitability

  • Bachelor’s degree in in relevant field, Master’s degree preferred

  • Experience with enterprise security products, ideally cloud computing and cryptography

  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and writing proficiency are mandatory

  • Able to conceive, initiate, and sell new ideas in a team environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and credibility with sales community

  • Creative spirit and ability in getting the message and story out

  • High energy, self-motivated, and driven, with a strong sense of ownership, getting the job done and passion for winning together (this is a team activity)

  • Ability to travel internationally approximately 20% of the time

  • Must be able to lawfully work within Canada and have unrestricted work authorization for Canada
