Robert Half Business Manager in Orange, Virginia

Description We are searching for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Orange, Virginia. The Sr. Accountant will manage and administer business functions, including accounting, campus and facilities, insurance, legal issues, transportation, administrative support staff, school store, student records, salaries and benefits, and financial aid program. Working closely with the Head of School, the Sr. Accountant will support the faculty and staff as well as the school’s financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer the school’s business functions

• Handle accounting, campus and facilities, insurance, legal issues, and transportation matters

• Oversee administrative support staff, school store, student records

• Manage salaries and benefits, and financial aid program

• Work closely with the Head of School to support the faculty and staff

• Support the school’s financial operations

• Process and reconcile account balances

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations

• Maintain the General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various tasks

• Handle Month End Close processes. Requirements • Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must

• Demonstrated skills in account reconciliation

• Practical knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation

• Experience with bank reconciliations

• Familiarity with general ledger functions

• Ability to prepare and post journal entries

• Experience in month-end close procedures

• Must possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Appropriate certification (e.g., CPA) will be considered a plus.

• Familiarity with financial software is desirable

• Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

• Legal right to work in the United States.
