Duties: Designs and implements engineering solutions on customer projects. Understands problem statement and requirements. Develops simulation models in Simcenter Amesim platform and MATLAB/Simulink tools. Performs simulation driven analysis to understand root cause of issues and failures. Develops design solutions in a systematic manner. Develops automotive control systems, such as those for transmission, and driveline, in MATLAB and Simulink using Quality Processes and Methods. Uses driveline and vehicle simulation models to study performance of the control systems. Works closely with the project team to plan the technical steps and details the engineering tasks for each of the project milestones. Analyzes functional requirements to develop test scenarios and performs Model-In-the-Loop and Software-In-the-Loop simulations with the test scenarios to ensure quality design implementations. Uses vehicle test data. Attunes model parameters to get a good correlation between vehicle test results and simulation results. Documents solutions and results and presents them to project stakeholders and team members. Provides business and technical feedback to business development and project management teams. Provides technical guidance to customer engineers in the application of design techniques and system procedures related to simulation-based testing and performance evaluation of automotive control systems using models.

Requirements : Employer will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in an Engineering-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following: Working with model-based control designs of driveline controls; Working with modeling and simulation using MATLAB and Simulink; Developing functional test cases from functional requirements for automotive drive units; Performing automated software testing using Jenkins with model and software components; Performing DFMEA for automotive subsystems; Performing troubleshooting and failure analysis of powertrain components; Experience with quality process and methods such as QFD and Six-Sigma techniques. 100% telecommuting permitted . Less than 10% domestic travel required.
