Emerson Assistant Manager - Supplier Development in PUNE, India

Job Summary:

If you are a Supply Chain professional, Emerson has an excellent role for you! The Supplier Development Assistant Manager (SDE) supports the business by improving the Supply Chain performance and processes.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Improves the Supply Chain processes and performance from Cost, Speed, Delivery, and Cash perspective.

  • Acts as a Foundry / Machining expert and work directly with suppliers for the development of Castings and structured problem-solving to implement improvement programs in all World Area regions.

  • Drives Time-bound developments of new Castings and leading the Technical Feasibility review process with Foundries.

  • Assesses and develops the Foundries through regular Process Assessments to enable them to deliver the level of performance required by our Customers.

  • Works closely with Product Supply Chain Leaders, Buyers, Material Managers, and Quality Managers to drive Chronic issues' resolution through the root cause and countermeasure (RCCM) process.

  • Sets and reinforces standards for a safe work environment.

  • Drives Supplier Transfer programs with Partners engagement, and program management.

  • Reviews Supplier Proposals (casting and machined casting) and manufacturing feasibility feedback, discuss with Engineering, and resolve the open issues.

  • Actively participates in the monthly Buyer Report Out meeting to support Planning and Inventory Control Managers, Buyer/Planners, and Quality managers through the fast resolution of raised / repetitive supplier delivery and quality issues, including root causes countermeasures (RCCM), and long-term effective corrective actions.

  • Supervises key performance indicators, RDSL, and DPPM

  • Initiates development program on TOP RDSL suppliers. Support chronic DPPM issues to Plant QA. Support Global Supplier Quality in case of chronic issues.

  • Analyzes site forecasts provided to critical suppliers and keep close communication with Operations as well as the supplier to identify programs vital to maintain supplier performance (stocking program opportunities, adjusting suppliers’ capacities, etc.)

  • Ensure Suppliers are trained in Structured Problem Solving, Lean & Six Sigma, and that Supplier management is committed to the use of these tools.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Minimum of 10 to 12 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Foundry Processes, Castings Machining, Lean Deployment, Supplier Quality Assurance.

  • Knowledge on Castings and Machining processes

  • Experience in actively engaging in building and improving suppliers’ performance

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or any related field

  • Fluent in English as will be dealing with suppliers and partners globally.
