SUMMARY OF ROLE

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible of creating mechanical drawings and engineering designs for metering skids, a process that spans from conception to construction, including the production of as-built drawings. It is imperative that the design adheres to both internal guidelines and customer specifications. Additionally, the individual should have a thorough understanding of both national and international standards, along with sound engineering practices.
Factor I: Accountability
Provide technical support for drawings to the Sales and Applications teams
Review applicable Client Technical Specifications and Standards e.g. Piping Class, Piping & Structural design, etc.
Set up project / Pipe class in 3D CAD software (preferably CADWORX) before commencing 3D Model / GA drawing
Prepare 3D CAD model, P&ID and General Arrangement (GA) drawing
Lead Design Review of 3D CAD model in Navisworks application and resolve conflicts
Set up / Configure ISOGEN in CADWORX for Piping Isometrics drawings
Prepare GA and Fabrication drawings
Keeping records of internal review and design review comments and share lessons learned
Notify Project Mechanical Engineer for cost variations based on changes
Follow PMO processes and procedures
Assist Project Mechanical Engineer for preparing Piping Analysis model in CAESAR II and Structural analysis model in STAAD Pro application
Factor II: Knowledge and Skills
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of Piping, Oil & Gas, Process Industry
Sound knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry equipment, Instruments, Piping and structural work
Sound knowledge of Ergonomics requirements as per ISO and OSHA standard for walkway, Platform, Ladder and valve access, etc.
Able to generate library of modules / blocks / setting of View ports, setting of templates in the model or layout
Factor III: Supervision
Supervision of own work, with respect to Quality and Productivity
Able to estimate efforts for the assigned work
Provide timely escalation in case of challenges to Quality, budget and schedule
Provide idea/suggestions to improve on budgets and cost

Interact with project team effectively for various effects of changes on project drawings
Flexibility to work to meet deadlines
Flexible to adapt the changes or change in standard
Flexible to adapt multi-tasking and switching between the project
