About Role:

As a Senior Systems Engineer (L3) at Ensono specializing in Commvault backup systems, you’ll play a pivotal role in implementing, and maintaining Commvault backup infrastructures. Your expertise Commvault backup will be instrumental in ensuring high availability, reliability, and efficiency across Ensono’s technology landscape.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement, and maintain Commvault backup solutions tailored to meet the organization’s data protection requirements.

  2. Perform day-to-day management, monitoring, and maintenance of Commvault infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

  3. Conduct regular backups, backups testing, and data restores to verify the integrity and effectiveness of backup processes.

  4. Collaborate with internal teams to develop backup and recovery strategies aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements.

  5. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and support staff, assisting in problem resolution and skill development.

  6. Troubleshoot backup failures, performance issues, and other related problems, implementing timely resolutions and preventive measures.

  7. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in backup and recovery, recommending enhancements to optimize infrastructure efficiency.

  8. Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to backup-related incidents and emergencies outside of regular business hours.

  9. Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain an accurate knowledge base and ensure operational continuity.

  10. Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate new products, assess compatibility, and integrate solutions into the existing backup environment.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

  2. Minimum of 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in backup and recovery operations, with a focus on Commvault software.

  3. Commvault certification (e.g., Commvault Certified Engineer) preferred.

  4. Proven expertise in designing, deploying, and managing complex Commvault environments in enterprise-scale environments.

  5. In-depth knowledge of backup methodologies, including full, incremental, and differential backups, as well as backup replication and deduplication techniques.

  6. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and customization of backup workflows.

  7. Strong understanding of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and object storage, and their integration with backup solutions.

  8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve backup-related issues efficiently.

  9. Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  10. Proven track record of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
