Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

We are looking for a self-driven Senior Software Engineer, to identify and dive deep into global scale service issues and drive improvements to resiliency, availability, latency, and product reliability. You will be responsible for complexity analysis, and scalable system design to ensure services/systems are highly stable, available, performant, and meeting the expectations of our customers. Responsibilities

You will be designing, building, and running cloud services at high scale and availability, and work on Intune gateways which is the first point of contact for any devices with a scale of billions of transactions per day. You will have end-to-end ownership of scenarios and features and will have the opportunity to have significant impact, to hone your system design skills while working on the latest technologies in Cloud computing, and to collaborate cross team/group/org.

• Architect and Design Complex Systems: Lead the architectural design of complex software systems, considering customer needs and ensuring user-centric solutions that prioritize usability and satisfaction.

• Mentor and Collaborate: Mentor less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of customer-centric development and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that address user pain points.

• Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews with a focus on delivering a seamless customer experience, while ensuring compliance with coding standards and industry regulations that safeguard user data and privacy.

• Problem Solving and Innovation: Problem solving technical issues with an understanding of customer requirements, proposing solutions that enhance the overall user experience and improve customer satisfaction.

• Project Leadership: Take ownership of key development projects with a customer-first approach, ensuring that the software aligns with business goals, timelines, and user expectations, and effectively managing technical risks to deliver solutions that resonate with users.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience building and managing distributed services.

Other Requirements:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
