Precise Systems, Inc. Payroll Manager in Reston, Virginia

Precise Systems is seeking a highly self-motivated, successful Payroll Manager in a fast-paced government contracting environment with multi-state, multi-cycle payrolls.

Preferred arrangement is 3 days per week in office with remainder being remote.

Duties:

  • This position will have processing as well as supervisory duties in the processing of multiple payroll cycles (semi-monthly and bi-weekly) for a variety of types of employees (800+) including employees subject to Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA)

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • Minimum High School Diploma

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years full-cycle payroll experience with organizations of 1000+ employees (may be progressive in employee count experience)

  • At least 3 years experience managing payroll team

  • ADP Workforce Now - Subject Matter Expert

  • Use of Government Contractor Software - DELTEK COSTPOINT IS A PLUS

  • Proven experience with complex pay requirements for both SCLS and CBA type payrolls

  • Strong grasp of the end-to-end business process strong understanding of payroll requirements, laws, and regulations for employees working in the United States

  • Ability to work under pressure prioritize and complete tasks in order of importance

  • Experience with complex timesheet and payroll situations that require detailed knowledge of system functionality

  • Government Contracting experience is required for this newly created role for a candidate to be the subject matter expert to the organization

  • Proficiency using various software, applications, and programs including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Positive, customer-service focus with the ability to actively listen, elicit information, comprehend customer issues/needs, and recommend solutions

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, follow-through on projects from conception to completion, and complete work accurately and timely with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and attention-to-detail

  • Flexible and willing to adjust to the needs and priorities of a growing business.

Required Skills

Bachelors preferred, 2 years of additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of each year of education.
