Amazon is looking for entrepreneurial people to build and execute our B2B product selection and pricing strategy across Amazon Canada categories. The Senior BDM position is an exciting opportunity to work in the early stages of building the Canada B2B business on Amazon.ca. This individual will need to be comfortable with working directly with Vendors to negotiate for B2B relevant selection, pricing, sponsorships and deals, and also lead a series of pilot projects that will help us accelerate growth in B2B category sales.

The right person for this role will be a strong leader demonstrating ownership with bias towards action and comfortable with ambiguity as every day brings new opportunities and challenges in this super fast growing business. They have the right balance of strategic thinking and execution, are able to both think big and think scrappy as if operating in an unstructured startup environment, and hustle to get things done.

Amazon Business provides easy access to hundreds of millions of products – everything from IT and lab equipment to education, food service supplies and power tools to our business customers. These customers have different needs than the traditional Amazon customers, so we are reinventing how we add and display business selection, price products, and provide the right customer experience.

Key job responsibilities

Execute a plan to deliver a robust selection of products to meet business customer needs at sharp prices.

Lead vendor negotiations to add unique, new selection to the Amazon Business store, and discounts for business customers.

Liaise with research agencies, AB Customer Acquisition & Engagement team and Category teams to benchmark selection and other inputs on Amazon Business, identify gaps and work with stakeholders to bridge the gap

Engage with marketplace and Amazon Business product teams to roll out initiatives to improve Customer experience and Seller Experience.

Manage special projects / strategic initiatives by leading diverse programs across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Identify out of the box experiments to drive business growth and influence cross-functional stakeholders for partnership.

Setup scalable reports and communication channels to drive desirable behavior among the seller base.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps

  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management

  • Superior analytical abilities and quantitative skills. Comfortable with complex financial data.

  • Excellent business judgment with strong written and oral communication skills

  • High threshold for working in an ambiguous, fast paced environment start-up like environment – figuring it out and adapting as you go

  • Comfortable with “hands-on” management of tasks, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • Proficiency with SQL a plus, but not required

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
