The Quality Manager role plays a critical part in implementing the Quality Assurance organizational strategy. Reporting to the Plant manager and dotted to the Regional Director of Quality. The goal is to align with global and regional operational and quality objectives, ensuring exceptional performance, food safety initiatives, and continuous improvement. By doing so, the Quality Manager mitigates financial risks and facilitates optimal business growth. This position involves close collaboration with customers, IFF sites worldwide, and other corporate divisions. The successful candidate must exhibit a high degree of independence, substantial experience, and maturity in handling quality-related matters

  • Building a Culture of Quality environment within the organization based on the 4 culture pillars: Leadership emphasis, Empowerment, Peer involvement, Message credibility.

  • Responsible for understanding the food safety requirements and their strict observance.

  • Coordinating and implementing a corporate quality strategy that ensures global consistency

  • Guidance and support for the successful completion of continuous improvement projects in support of production goals and quality objectives.

  • Improving strong relationships with internal and external parties (European management, Global Regulatory Affairs, QA/QC, Customer Services, Customers and Authority bodies), in order to gain customer intimacy and managing their expectations,in order to increase customer confidence, meet their needs and expectations.

  • Responsible for the ongoing audit of the work environment for hazards that may lead to injury or incident, and the timely adoption of corrective measures.

  • Work closely with all other departments of the organization, such as global supplier quality control groups, Procurement department, IC&D, Global Regulatory Affairs, etc.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development, implementation and management of local Quality initiatives, programs and procedures to support the company's business areas. This includes the application of statistics and technological capabilities.

  • Monitoring, trend analysis and reporting KPIs

  • Interface with our customer base in conjunction with the Sales staff, to determine their needs and priorities in terms of both overall performance and Quality systems.

  • Actively participate in and develop local Quality systems by the formation of functional teams utilizing the resources of the global Quality organization.

  • Support the standardization of all Quality Control procedures within the facility to show continuous improvement in all quality related metrics.

  • Manage internal auditing program, lead external authority and customers audits.

  • Lead a staff training program on hygiene, quality, food safety and regulatory requirements

  • Lead staff development through performance management.

  • Actively seek feedback from others and prioritize improvement measures

  • Prepare written and oral presentations for clients and senior management, if necessary.

  • Be responsible for timely informing senior management of any critical issues.

  • Be responsible for the preparation and compliance with the department's operating budgets.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemistry, biological sciences or Food/Food production technology).

  • Work experience from seven to ten (7-10) years as a Quality control manager in the food industry/ production of flavorings/fragrant chemicals or related industries.

  • Significant experience in the field of quality and/or operations in FMCG companies and/or in the production of flavors

  • GFSI Certificate of Competence, preferably certified auditor FSSC 22000

  • Advanced 1C, ERP user

  • Advanced user of MS Office applications

  • Knowledge of statistics and process control (SPC).

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

  • Excellent project management and presentation skills

  • Preference is given to the Green or Black Six Sigma belt

  • Ability to work with people, knowledge of personnel development programs

  • Ability to plan and manage complex and new projects

  • Team leadership and presentation skills in a global environment, understanding cultural differences.

  • In-depth knowledge in the field of building effective customer relationships and cross-functional interaction. An expert who can gain trust and influence these relationships at all levels of the organization.
