About the role

Our Buildings team is currently delivering some of Sydney’s key projects along with a variety of commercial, defence, industrial, educational and healthcare projects. We are looking for an enthusiastic Civil Designer to join our established and growing team.

This role includes civil design and documentation across a range of projects and sectors. Projects range from early concept design and master planning through to detailed design and construction documentation.

Successful candidates will be developed in a professional and personal sense and provided with an opportunity to forge a challenging and rewarding career path in a global consultancy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Technical design and documentation utilizing 12d, Civil 3d and AutoCAD as primary packages.

  • Design collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers and BIM/Infraworks modelers.

  • Provide accurate and efficient design/drafting services for the business sector.

  • Recognise and resolve potential design conflicts and difficulties identified during design.

  • Ensure overall consistency, quality, technical accuracy, and design on projects.

  • Provide technical input as per the scope of work to undertake designs in accordance with current technical standards, DA conditions, Council and local authority requirements.

  • Participate in meetings with clients and other consultants.

  • Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures.

  • Opportunities for site and field work.

Qualifications

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • An Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent

  • Ideally have good technical design background in aspects of buildings and civil design including commercial, defence, industrial, educational and healthcare sectors.

  • Demonstrated civil design/drafting experience within a consulting environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Efficient time management and organisation skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant standards and legislation applicable to the region of operation.

  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
