Overview

Bowhead seeks a senior Project Manager, Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) to join our team supporting the Program Office for Logistics Integrated Information Systems – Marine Corps (LI2S-MC) in Stafford, VA.

The Project Manager will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and lead a team of engineers, cybersecurity personnel, logisticians, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight/input/support over engineering, cybersecurity, systems architecture, cloud engineering, SAFe, operations, integrated logistics, supply, and program management support.

• Responsible for managing projects or aspects of projects; providing guidance for specific tasks/subtasks; manages day-to-day activities and reviews work products for completeness and adherence to customer requirements & standards.

• Provides supervision of multiple complex projects and principal liaison responsibilities with client on all business, technical and cost matters for task project planning, scheduling, and implementation.

• Directs completion of projects within estimated time frames and budget constraints.

• Organizes, directs and coordinates the planning and production of all activities associated with assigned task order projects.

• Demonstrates competent writing and oral communication skills; ensures quality products and services are delivered.

• The Project Manager reports to the Program Manager.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university.

• At least ten (10) years of professional experience including at least six (6) years of supervisory experience specialized in leading Navy or Marine Corps logistics and/or IT programs.

• Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.

• Ability to manage the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific task.

• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.

• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must favorably pass a Public Trust background investigation. Candidates with an In-Scope DoD security clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is required.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
