Description

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Stony Brook Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member to provide educational and programmatic leadership, patient care, teaching and clinical supervision of trainees in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. Stony Brook Medicine encompasses Suffolk County, Long Island's premier 600 bed academic hospital and regional referral center for complex quaternary care and level I trauma and houses the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University.

The Consultation-Liaison division includes a well-staffed teaching service for residents and students, a Fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and inpatient specialty liaisons in Hospital Medicine and in Pediatrics. The department includes a growing number of ambulatory integrated care and telehealth initiatives with primary care and medical sub-specialties.

This position offers faculty the opportunity to develop a subspecialty inpatient or outpatient niche within C-L Psychiatry, as well as opportunities in administrative and educational program leadership. Salary and benefits are highly competitive.

NOTE: This opportunity can be full time (7 on 7 off) rotational schedule with another provider, which would require no less than 80 hours bi-weekly. Please inquire on this scheduling option when interviewing.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Psychiatrist (MD or DO, or foreign equivalent). Board Certified/Board Eligible in Adult Psychiatry. Eligible for New York State licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:
Fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry or Addiction Psychiatry, or additional boards in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Neurology. Board Eligible in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. Experience in an academic medical center Consultation-Liaison service. Track record of scholarship. Leadership experience in Consultation-Liaison education and clinical service delivery.
