The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a Engagement Specialist/ Field Ambassador to join our Planning team located at our Toronto office . Reporting to the Manager, this position will primarily involve public and client communications and coordination in support of major infrastructure projects in the Greater Toronto Area. The successful candidate can expect to be challenged in a variety of tasks undertaken in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

What you can expect to do here:

• Meetings and correspondence with members of the public;

• Coordination of multi-stakeholder meetings;

• Develop professional rapport with the project team and community members;

• Regular client correspondence;

• Attend progress meetings as required for coordination purposes;

• Tracking and recording public interactions, including monthly reporting;

• Support during public consultation processes including the preparation of communication materials and public notifications;

• Conduct periodic site visits; and

• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

• University degree or college diploma in Planning, Communications, Public Relations, Community Engagement or related field;

• Up to 1-3 years of progressive experience in a municipal or consulting environment;

• Superior skills in public consultation/communication;

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, query, analyze, and effectively communicate information;

• Highly motivated, organized, flexible, enthusiastic team player committed to upholding our reputation for delivering high quality service;

• Excellent written and oral communication and time management skills; and

• Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a car.
