Role Summary:

As a member of the Analytics and Insights Team within the Student Lending (SL) line of business, the successful candidate will be accountable for analyzing data from multiple sources and generating reports/dashboards, analytics, and insights to support the business and its clients in decision making.

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for using data to generate insights and solve business problems to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the SL analytics and insights team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing new, and continuously improving existing, reporting metrics inclusive of the data collection process and the quality standards used within

  • Generate/compile data and standard (external and internal client) reports accurately and within required timeframes

  • Identify, understand, and reconcile inconsistencies in data used within reports and reporting tools; coordinate and work with internal teams and management to resolve them

  • As a subject matter expert, participate in assigned student lending projects to identify required changes to existing data/reports or new KPI’s and reports to meet the changing business needs

  • Identify and effectively communicate emerging trends and changes within Student Lending KPI’s

  • Contribute to the identification of root causes of trend changes as well as potential impacts

  • Accurately and effectively fulfill ad hoc requests for data and analysis as assigned within agreed upon timeframes

Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable working with tight deadlines under time constraints

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple, sometimes changing, priorities with minimal supervision

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels

  • Work well independently and in a team environment

  • Able to effectively present data and analysis in a professional and easy to understand manner

Knowledge & Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in an analyst role

  • Ability to gather, compile, and data mine

  • Strong MS Office skills with at least basic knowledge of VBA and SQL to design macros

  • Previous experience with PowerBI an asset
