Job Description:

We’re looking for a Senior Underwriting Associate to join our Cdn GB Underwriting - New Business Quotes team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to:

  • The New Business Quote Specialist is responsible and accountable for efficiently and effectively responding to Requests to Quotes from our Advisor community.

  • Depending on the size and complexity, the New Business Quote Specialist will work closely with the New Business Underwriting team, and the Account Executives to discuss and educate the Advisor with regards to missing information, plan design, alternates, product suggestions, customer solutions, and price positioning

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Underwriting Senior Associate is responsible and accountable for efficiently and effectively responding to Requests to Quotes from our Advisor community.

  • You are also responsible to ensure Requests for Quotes are quoted correctly, agreed upon Discretionary Spending Account is applied correctly, and proposal packages are created and sent back to advisors within the published turnaround time.

  • Depending on the size and complexity, the Underwriting Analyst will work closely with the New Business Underwriting team, and the Account Executives to discuss and educate the Advisor with regards to missing information, plan design, alternates, product suggestions, customer solutions, and price positioning.

  • Accurately input plan design detail, employee data, premium, claims and rate history in PlanLink to create an attractive, professional new business proposal within the stated turnaround time of 24 hours

  • Possess strong knowledge of group benefits in order to interpret Advisor specifications or current carrier contracts to fit Manulife’s plan design features

  • Adjust final rates with a Discretionary Spending Account (DSA) to allow our quotes to be competitive in the market place

  • Review final proposal output including rates to ensure accuracy and responsibility of final action.

  • Partner with the group benefit Underwriters to ensure consistent messaging to the Advisors regarding plan design and risk management

  • Assist the Account Executives in educating the Advisors on Manulife’s group benefits product offerings and risk tolerances

  • Managing the national generic inbox to ensure items are processed or direct work to team members based on geographic assignment

Qualifications:

  • High School/Senior High/Vocational Course/1-year completed in a Bachelor's program with relevant work experience of at least 2 years; Bachelor's Degree holders are welcome to apply

  • At least one to two years of relevant experience

  • Amenability to work on morning schedules, weekends, and Philippine holidays (when needed)

  • Mactan Newtown, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu

  • Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation)

  • Excellent English communication skills (spoken and writing)

  • Strong customer service skills (ability to build rapport, demonstrate empathy, and outline key steps in delivering good customer service)

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to comprehend and act on presented customer concern or problem

  • Ability to multi-task and navigate multiple applications at the same time
