LinkedIn is seeking a Government Alliance Partner to sell and support LinkedIn Talent Solutions products and services to assigned Citizen facing accounts and Government Accounts. This role requires a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in business development, partnership management, public policy and regulation, and a deep passion for the Public Sector. The successful candidate will need to be a strategic thinker, able to identify new opportunities and ways of operating to create meaningful outcomes for customers. They will also need to be an excellent communicator with strong collaboration skills, as they will be working across different segments within the LinkedIn business and managing internal stakeholders. This role reports directly into the Director of Government Sales, North America. 

The Government Alliance Partner is also expected to help shape the future of LinkedIn’s partner ecosystem as it pertains to the Government market in a way that supports LinkedIn’s goal of creating the world’s first economic graph.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive key citizen engagement relationships and leads 

  • Drive key State & Local Government and Federal Government relationships and leads

  • Support the creation of new deals into the pipeline and in partnership with the government sales team through direct selling 

  • This lead will be responsible for identifying alliance partners and business development opportunities associated with these accounts. Develop partner strategy and evaluate potential partners who can help further LinkedIn’s efforts to develop the world’s largest and most efficient talent marketplace which include contracting, onboarding, training and partnering with such partners

  • The Government Alliance Partner will have responsibility to develop and manage high value accounts delivered via current alliance partnerships. 

  • Support Account Executives and Account Directors in identifying new partners in the market and liaising with the business development team, policy teams across LinkedIn.

  • Collaborate with Account Executives and Account Directors to evangelize on large and strategic accounts across the Workforce Development, State & Local Government and Federal Government portfolio. Manage deal execution, drive implementation of integration(s) and manage partner relationships once deal is signed

  • Achieve or exceed sales quota through prospecting, building and developing a pipeline and closing sales with Citizen facing/Workforce Development customers and Government customers. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (Product, Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales Ops, Sales, Business Development) to develop processes that will help scale our partner programs 

  • Develop customer relationships with senior bureaucrat or political contacts including large stakeholders along with key associations, companies and organizations in the NAMER such as NAWB, NASWA, Gates, ResCare, and 3CD that will yield long-term success.

  • Work to maximize customer satisfaction before, during, and after the sale. 

  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts and present to prospects and customers and prepare the appropriate paperwork to activate and maintain contract services. 

  • Prepare the required status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals. 

  • Drive executive briefing strategy to engage, educate and advance longer term platform and LTS adoption in Workforce Development and Citizen facing agencies and academic institutions. 

  • Focus on advancing the Gov to Citizen sale narrative of LTS and MSFT in the workforce development segment 

  • Public Policy Involvement: engagement where possible with Microsoft “peers” and lobbyists, federal and state level public policy personnel directly, & with LinkedIn Economic Graph team. 

  • Focus on building relationships with the key bodies in GOV reporting up into the NAMER Government team. 

  • Create brand awareness and lobbying with parties of influence. 

  • Present LinkedIn Learning narrative at various exec level meetings and conferences. 

*Basic qualifications: *

  • 5+ years professional-level inside sales experience meeting or exceeding quota in the government marketplace

  • Demonstrated history of problem-solving skills and adaptability to rapidly-changing requirements of the business

  • Proven experience as a collaborative team player

  • Demonstrated history of excellent listening, presentation and negotiation skills 

Preferred qualifications :

  • BA/BS degree in a related field

  • 1+ years of Lobbying experience

  • 1+ years of Business Development Experience

  • Demonstrated success as a self-starter who surpasses minimum requirements in an entrepreneurial environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Dynamics and Salesforce.com

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $184,000 to $280,000 OTE. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
