Oracle Senior DevOps / SRE SaaS Cloud Engineer in ZAPOPAN, Mexico

Oracle’s Energy and Water DevOps team is seeking talented DevOps/ Site Reliability engineers getting opportunity to work on SaaS cloud platform. Do you care about the planet? We need Engineers (intermediate to senior) adept at solving complex technical problems that span multiple areas combining software and systems; excel in automation scripting, infrastructure orchestration, release management/configuration management and continuous integration – engineer who consider innovation as a major part of their deliverables.

You should be able to identify operational patterns and issues and creatively automate solutions working with different internal engineering teams and external customer requirements.

Must be a motivated, team-player with the ability to work cross functionally with a “can-do” and “do-it-right” attitude and willingness to mentor others.

Must be a self-starter and constantly striving a way to improve the work and have excellent communication skills

In this role you will need to:

  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Prometheus, Grafana, Java, and many other modern SaaS technologies

  • Participate in projects involving people of many different disciplines: engineering, cloud, networking, CI/CD, project management, monitoring, alerting etc.

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of Linux, networking, CI/CD, and large cluster management and automation.

  • Provide technical and business guidance for complex user problems

  • Provide design assistance to Engineering department for new and existing releases

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using multiple stack (E.g.: logs, database, monitoring tools, code).

  • React to production deficiencies by continuously implementing automation, self-healing, and real-time monitoring to production systems

  • Be a strong contributor to development of platform services including architecture, provisioning, configuration, deployment, and support

  • Partner with the distributed team in prototyping new platform services

  • Able to work in a distributed team across the globe

  • Stay informed of new technologies

  • Production sensitivity to maintain/improve customer SLAs

  • Technical mentor/lead for the team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in Operations and/or Software Engineering supporting production enterprise systems

  • Excellent Communication skills

  • Strong customer focus and ability to both work independently with minimal direction and to collaborate effectively with local or remote teams

  • Good understanding of Incident and Change (Agile) management processes

  • Strong scripting and/or programming skills for automating tasks (Python, Shell, JS, etc.)

  • Experience with Jenkins, Dockers, Kubernetes, Git

  • Look for opportunities to implement Generative AI to improve efficiency and speed

  • Knowledge of RDBMS, SQL/PLSQL, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Linux, Networking, application performance and security concepts will be a big plus

  • Prior experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or equivalent is a plus

  • Able to work base on flexible schedule involving weekends and flex start/end times as needed for coverage of our global customer base
